2024

MiCOM Labs are expanding its certification services by incorporating Cybersecurity into its portfolio (MiCybercert), addressing the growing need for robust compliance in this critical area. This addition reflects MiCOM's commitment to providing comprehensive solutions tailored to evolving client needs.

2021

MiCOM Labs advances testing and compliance processes aimed at 5G FR1 and subsequently into high-frequency technologies. Global footprint expands into India. Achieves milestone for highest volume of products certified for North America. In addition, MiCOM Labs ranks highest in the world as a foreign RCB for MIC Japan.

2020

In accordance with Japan's Radio Laws and Telecommunications Business Law (TBL), MiCOM Labs offers Japan Approval for Telecommunications Equipment (JATE) certification. Extends certification to UKCA as Approved Body (AB) covering UK Radio Equipment and EMC regulations.

2019

As part of the MiTest solution MiCOM Labs introduced permission-level access for clients, allowing them to view online measurement data in real-time and generate on-the-fly PDF reports for seamless sharing with their design teams. This innovation eliminates the delay of waiting for test labs to produce a draft report, enabling manufacturers to promptly verify their device's performance during testing and address any issues immediately.

2018

MiCOM Labs Shenzhen® was established, marking the company’s strategic expansion into Asia. MiCOM's adoption across the APAC region fueled mass engagement with the MiCMS platform.

2017

As part of the MiTest® automated testing solution, MiCOM Labs developed a specialized solution for testing Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) capabilities, further enhancing their comprehensive test offerings.

2016

MiCOM Labs extends its certification offering across global markets for type approval and Global Market Access (GMA) to over 130 countries.

2015

Introduces certifications in China to independent accredited test labs via MiCMS, an automated, cloud-based service.

2012

MiCOM Labs pioneers the world’s first patented, cloud-based testing and certification management software (MiCMS) exclusively for clients to streamline and automate the client test/certification process. Authorized as foreign Registered Certification Body (RCB) by MIC for Japan.

2011

MiCOM Labs' founder & CEO, Gordon Hurst, became the Vice Chair of the TCB Council, serving from April 2011 to April 2012. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in guiding the council’s strategic initiatives, helping to shape industry standards and improve the testing and certification processes.

2009

MiCOM Labs is appointed ISO/IEC:17065 accreditation as an FCC Telecommunications Certification Body (TCB). Subsequently appointed ISED (FCB) for Canada and EU Notified Body (NB).

2003

MiCOM Labs collaborates with TÜV-Rheinland to perform wireless testing for their global customers.

2001

MiCOM Labs is founded by Gordon Hurst after having spun out of Digital Microwave Corp’s Stratest Labs.
