How We Ranked the Top RF Testing Labs
We weighted the following factors according to their significance in the development and certification process, as well as the ability of the companies to speed up the testing process.
- Certifications Available (30%) – Many manufacturers want to be able to launch products in as many markets as possible after testing for certification without repeating the process. Labs that offer certification for the highest number of markets hold the edge.
- Tests Performed (25%) – Regulatory compliance testing is the primary goal for most manufacturers, but labs that offer a diverse range of tests tailored to different regulatory standards ranked higher.
- Result Availability (20%) – Testing for compliance used to be a long, tedious process, but some labs have ramped up their efforts to be responsive to clients and provide immediate test results.
- Specificity in Testing Performed (15%) – While many testing laboratories offer a full suite of protocols ranging far beyond RF and EMC options, we ranked the ones that specialized in RF only higher due to the likelihood of higher expertise.
- Additional Services Offered (10%) – To eliminate any potential tiebreakers, we included additional services offered, but only if they made a meaningful difference in the compliance and approval process.
